An established and growing civil engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join its Municipal and Land Development team.

This position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects, providing the opportunity to work on everything from community infrastructure improvements and utility projects to parks, recreation facilities, site development, and municipal capital programmes.

The successful candidate will work directly with experienced engineering professionals while taking ownership of technical design, project delivery, permitting, client interaction, and construction support activities. Position Overview

The Civil Engineer / Project Manager will support the planning, design, permitting, and delivery of a wide variety of civil engineering projects throughout the region.

Typical project types may include:

• Municipal infrastructure improvements
• Roadway and streetscape projects
• Water and wastewater infrastructure
• Stormwater management facilities
• Parks, athletic facilities, and recreational amenities
• Utility extension and replacement projects
• Commercial and residential land development
• Capital improvement programmes

The role combines technical engineering, client coordination, project management, permitting, and construction administration responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Project Delivery

• Prepare engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Perform site design, grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater management design.
• Prepare permit applications and coordinate regulatory approvals.
• Develop construction cost estimates and bidding documents.
• Assist with construction administration and contractor coordination.
• Support projects from concept planning through final construction.

Municipal & Land Development Projects

• Deliver engineering services for both public- and private-sector clients.
• Support municipal infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
• Assist with grant and funding applications where applicable.
• Coordinate with local agencies, utility providers, and regulatory bodies.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Project Management

• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Communicate directly with clients and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and identify solutions to technical challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant civil engineering experience in land development, municipal engineering, infrastructure, or related fields.
• Experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, estimates, and permit applications.
• Strong organisational and project management abilities.
• Valid driver's licence.

Preferred

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
• Experience with municipal engineering or public-sector projects.
• Experience with land development and site civil design.
• Familiarity with permitting and regulatory review processes.
• Grant application or capital improvement programme experience.

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil design software.
• Site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design.
• Stormwater management and permitting.
• Construction plan preparation and specification writing.
• Cost estimating and bid document preparation.
