Lead a Growing Commercial Roofing Operation
An established and respected commercial roofing and waterproofing contractor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and continuously improve its Northern Nevada operation.
This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for overseeing roofing operations, developing high-performing teams, improving processes, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably. The successful candidate will serve as the operational leader for the region, working closely with executive leadership to drive growth, operational excellence, and long-term business success.
The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who can balance strategy with execution, build accountability across teams, and create scalable systems that support continued growth in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide overall leadership for the Northern Nevada roofing operation.
- Oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.
- Drive operational performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and mentor team members while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Hold managers and departments accountable for performance, quality, safety, and company standards.
- Support recruiting, hiring, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
Process Improvement & Business Operations
- Develop and implement operational processes that improve efficiency, communication, profitability, and project execution.
- Monitor operational metrics, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Identify operational roadblocks and implement practical, scalable solutions.
- Develop training programs, operational standards, and quality control initiatives.
- Improve coordination between operations, sales, estimating, project management, and executive leadership.
- Support strategic planning, forecasting, and long-term growth initiatives.
Project & Financial Oversight
- Monitor project schedules, manpower allocation, production, and financial performance.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and resource allocation.
- Review operational and project performance metrics to maximize profitability.
- Participate in estimating reviews, project planning, procurement, and risk management.
Client & Market Leadership
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, property managers, and general contractors.
- Partner with business development teams to expand market presence throughout Nevada.
- Drive operational excellence that improves customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of leadership experience within commercial roofing, waterproofing, or related construction operations.
- Proven experience overseeing commercial roofing operations, project management teams, and field personnel.
- Strong knowledge of:
- TPO Roofing Systems
- PVC Roofing Systems
- EPDM Roofing Systems
- Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
- Waterproofing & Building Envelope Systems
- Experience managing operational processes, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial construction operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and create accountability.
- Ability to analyze operational challenges and implement scalable solutions.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, General Manager, Branch Manager, or Senior Project Manager.
- Experience overseeing multiple business functions including operations, project management, field execution, and customer service.
- Experience with both union and non-union commercial roofing operations.
- Background managing public works, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, or large-scale commercial projects.
- Experience growing regional operations or leading branch-level business units.
