Controls Project Manager
Overview
We are partnered with a leading Building Automation and HVAC Controls contractor seeking an experienced Controls Project Manager to support a growing portfolio of BAS projects.
This opportunity is ideal for a project professional with strong technical and commercial expertise in Building Automation who is looking to join an established organization with a strong project backlog and long-term growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Building Automation and HVAC Controls projects from kickoff through closeout
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and resource allocation
- Coordinate engineers, programmers, field technicians, and third-party vendors
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and sequences of operation
- Support installation, startup, commissioning, and project turnover activities
- Manage project changes and commercial performance to ensure successful delivery
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification
- Maintain strong communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Requirements
- 3+ years of Project Management experience within Building Automation, BAS, BMS, or HVAC Controls
- Strong understanding of building automation systems and HVAC controls applications
- Experience managing controls projects within commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities
- Ability to interpret controls drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong client-facing, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with major BAS platforms such as Niagara, Distech, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Automated Logic, or similar is preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
