About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CSST Field Lead to oversee and support hazardous materials survey projects throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. In this role, you will take a lead position on asbestos, lead, and mold survey assignments, guiding field teams, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a CSST professional ready to step into a leadership capacity within a growing environmental consulting practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate field teams conducting asbestos, lead, and mold surveys across residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Perform hands-on inspections, bulk and air sampling, and visual clearances in accordance with CSST protocols and regulatory standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Review field data and reports prepared by junior technicians to ensure accuracy and quality prior to submission.
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent field assignments.
- Ensure full compliance with Cal/OSHA, SCAQMD, and other local, state, and federal regulations governing hazardous materials work.
- Mentor and train junior field technicians on survey techniques, safety practices, and reporting standards.
- Communicate findings, project status, and any field issues to project managers and clients in a clear and timely manner.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience conducting asbestos, lead, and mold surveys.
- Current CSST (Certified Site Surveillance Technician) certification required.
- CAC (Certified Asbestos Consultant) certification is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, SCAQMD, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel throughout the LA/OC region.
- Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including wearing PPE and respiratory protection in varying site conditions.
