A growing environmental and occupational health consulting firm is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to support a diverse portfolio of industrial hygiene, indoor environmental quality, hazardous materials, and occupational health projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside senior technical leadership while gaining exposure to a wide range of environmental health assessments, field investigations, and client-facing project responsibilities. The ideal candidate will enjoy a balance of field work, technical problem-solving, and report preparation while continuing to develop their industrial hygiene expertise.
Responsibilities
- Conduct industrial hygiene assessments involving airborne contaminants, noise exposure, and occupational health hazards
- Perform indoor air quality investigations and mold assessments
- Complete asbestos and lead inspections, sampling, and evaluations
- Collect environmental samples including water, air, and bulk materials for laboratory analysis
- Conduct respirator fit testing and support exposure monitoring programs
- Develop project scopes, sampling plans, and technical proposals
- Prepare and review technical reports, findings, and recommendations
- Coordinate field activities and maintain accurate project documentation
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to clients and project teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of industrial hygiene or environmental consulting experience
- Experience performing exposure assessments, air monitoring, and environmental sampling
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills
- Ability to independently manage field assignments and project responsibilities
- Familiarity with OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, and related occupational health regulations
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally throughout the region
Preferred Qualifications
- Asbestos and/or lead credentials strongly preferred
- Experience with mold investigations and indoor air quality assessments
- Progress toward CIH certification
- Familiarity with environmental sampling equipment and exposure assessment methodologies
- Experience utilizing digital field reporting or environmental data management tools
