About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Hopedale, MA. This is a fully on-site position focused exclusively on electrical design work-ideal for someone who enjoys taking projects from concept to completion without involvement in programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Specify and design systems using Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Develop designs from scratch, managing the full lifecycle from initial concept to final documentation.
  • Select and specify electrical components including circuit breakers, relays, contactors, and motor starters.
  • Design control panels and ensure proper integration with field devices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure design accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and client specifications.
  • Provide technical support during the design phase and assist with documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, particularly in industrial automation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and other design tools.
  • Strong understanding of PLC and HMI systems (especially Allen Bradley).
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), UL508A, and other relevant electrical standards.
  • Experience with creating Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently on design tasks from start to finish.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in specifying control components and systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Experience with power distribution and load calculations.
  • Ability to interpret and create technical documentation and drawings.
