Electrical EIT
The Electrical Engineer will support the design and documentation of electrical systems for a variety of building projects. This position is well suited for an engineer with 3-5 years of consulting experience who is ready to take on increasing responsibility, work collaboratively across disciplines, and contribute to projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and/or industrial projects, including:
- Power distribution systems
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Fire alarm systems
- Low-voltage systems (data, communications, security)
- Prepare electrical construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies as required
- Coordinate work with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other disciplines
- Participate in internal design reviews and client meetings
- Respond to contractor RFIs and review shop drawings and submittals
- Support construction administration activities as needed
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
- Assist with mentoring junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience in a consulting or A/E firm
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable building codes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience producing construction documents for building electrical systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Experience with Revit-based electrical design workflows
- Familiarity with energy codes and sustainable design practices
- Experience supporting construction administration and field coordination
