Electrical Engineer with Experience in Building Electrical System & Lighting Design
- Lead electrical engineering design and project execution for commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, data center, and other complex facility projects.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality for electrical engineering deliverables.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with internal design teams, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Perform quality control reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Develop project scopes, fee proposals, and cost estimates.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.
- Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, field observations, and design clarifications.
- Participate in client meetings, business development efforts, and project pursuits.
Technical Expertise
Experience with the design and analysis of:
- Power distribution systems
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Emergency power and standby generation systems
- Short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and voltage drop studies
- Grounding and lightning protection systems
- Medium-voltage systems
- Electrical equipment layouts and sizing
- UPS systems and critical power infrastructure
- Sustainable and energy-efficient building systems
- Data center and mission critical electrical infrastructure (preferred)
Exposure to the following low-voltage systems is beneficial:
- Security and access control
- CCTV systems
- Telecommunications cabling
- Public address systems
- Nurse call systems
- Audio-visual systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, industry standards, and permitting requirements.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor technical staff.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
