Director of Power Generation (Electrical Leadership)
An established engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a senior leader to oversee and grow its power generation engineering practice. This individual will provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and team leadership for projects supporting utility, industrial, renewable, and distributed energy clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand an electrical engineering team focused on power generation projects.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- Serve as a technical advisor for generation facilities, substations, transmission interconnections, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Build and maintain relationships with utility, industrial, municipal, and independent power producer clients.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal development, client engagement, and market growth initiatives.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, and project management functions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices.
Desired Background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Progressive leadership experience within power generation, utility, consulting, EPC, or energy infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, generation facilities, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
- Experience managing engineering teams and complex technical projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proven ability to develop client relationships and drive business growth.
