Engineering Manager - Civil Site Development
A growing development-focused organization is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead civil site design efforts across multiple residential and mixed-use projects in the Southeastern U.S. This role involves managing internal design teams, overseeing permitting and construction documentation, and serving as Engineer of Record for active developments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the preparation of construction documents, technical reports, and permit applications for land development projects.
- Provide mentorship and training to engineering staff; participate in recruitment and team development.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of design plans to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects, maintaining active licensure.
- Manage project timelines, team workloads, and deliverables across multiple concurrent developments.
- Support construction administration activities including pre-construction meetings, shop drawing reviews, site inspections, and certification of stormwater infrastructure.
- Coordinate with municipalities, consultants, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in public hearings and meetings related to zoning and final engineering approvals.
- Review due diligence materials and assist in preliminary site assessments, including earthwork and utility modeling.
- Track project progress and report status to senior leadership.
- Identify training needs and growth opportunities for team members.
- Address design-related inquiries and resolve agency comments during permitting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil site design and project management.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater modeling tools (e.g., ICPR, Hydraflow, HEC-RAS), and water system design software (e.g., WaterCAD).
- Strong understanding of site grading, stormwater systems, erosion control, and utility design.
- Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory standards in the Southeastern U.S.
