Role Overview

LVI is partnered with a reputable engineering consulting firm who are seeking an Entry‑ to Mid‑Level Geotechnical Field Technician to join a growing geotechnical team supporting a wide range of commercial, infrastructure, industrial, and mission‑critical projects across the region. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers or technicians who enjoy hands‑on fieldwork, want exposure to real construction environments, and are eager to grow their technical foundation alongside experienced professionals.

You'll work closely with geotechnical engineers, project managers, and field staff, gaining valuable experience that lays the groundwork for long‑term career progression in geotechnical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing and observation during construction activities
  • Assist with soil borings, test pits, sampling, and logging
  • Conduct soil compaction, concrete, and foundation testing as required
  • Maintain accurate field documentation and test records
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project teams on site
  • Support project delivery through hands‑on participation and timely reporting
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards at all times

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, or related field
  • 0-5 years of relevant field or construction materials testing experience
  • Interest in geotechnical engineering and site‑based work
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying site conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites
