Compensation: $85,000-$100,000
A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join its growing team in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market. This position offers the opportunity to manage environmental investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects while working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, and health & safety professionals.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Manage environmental projects from initial investigation through regulatory closure
Lead site characterization, remedial investigations, risk evaluations, and remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, and sediment impacts
Develop and oversee project scopes, budgets, schedules, and project deliverables
Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, cost estimates, health and safety plans, and regulatory submissions
Evaluate remediation alternatives and develop cost-effective closure strategies
Coordinate field activities, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and project stakeholders
Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet quality objectives
Mentor junior staff and support team development efforts
Assist with proposal preparation and business development initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline
5+ years of environmental consulting experience
Experience managing site investigation, remediation, compliance, or due diligence projects
Strong understanding of state and federal environmental regulations
Experience advancing projects through regulatory programs and obtaining site closure
40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required
Professional certifications such as PE, PG, CHMM, EIT, or GIT are a plus
Experience with SPCC, SWPPP, environmental compliance, or remediation projects preferred
Excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
