I'm working with a well-established and growing engineering consulting firm seeking a Geotechnical Department Manager to lead and grow their Miami operation.
This is an opportunity to manage a team of approximately 10 engineers, project managers, and technical staff while overseeing a diverse portfolio of both private and public sector projects across South Florida. The group continues to experience consistent growth, averaging around 10% year-over-year, backed by a strong reputation, healthy backlog, and long-term investment in the region.
As Department Manager, you'll be responsible for technical oversight, team leadership, project delivery, client relationship management, and helping drive the continued growth of the business. You'll have significant autonomy to shape the department while being supported by an established leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary geotechnical team of approximately 10 professionals.
- Oversee project execution, quality assurance, budgets, and schedules.
- Manage relationships with both public and private sector clients.
- Support business development efforts and proposal pursuits.
- Recruit, develop, and retain technical talent.
- Work closely with senior leadership on departmental growth initiatives.
