A well-regarded multi-disciplinary engineering firm with a strong Pacific Northwest presence is looking to add a senior leader to its Water Resources practice. The firm delivers comprehensive water resources, natural resources, and environmental solutions across municipal, federal, and private sectors with a culture built around collaboration, innovation, and sustainable practice. Office locations are flexible across the greater Puget Sound region.
The Role
A practice leadership position combining technical project delivery, team management, and active business development. You'll lead a water resources group, manage client relationships, and play a direct role in shaping the strategic growth of the practice across the Puget Sound region.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Water Resources group through all phases of project scoping, budgeting, contract negotiation, and delivery
- Drive business development by identifying pursuits, preparing proposals, and representing the firm in client interviews
- Mentor and develop staff across technical, professional, and business development disciplines
- Oversee team performance management including utilization, growth planning, and administrative approvals
- Collaborate with regional business leaders on strategic planning, key hires, and growth opportunities
- Build and expand client relationships within municipal and federal water resources programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related Water Resources field
- PE license (Washington State preferred)
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience including 5+ years in a project management role supporting water resources business development and delivery
- Proficiency with stormwater management and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, MGSFlood, SMS/SRH-2D, or similar
- Background in fish passage, stream restoration, and/or stormwater systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Established client relationships within municipal and federal water resources programs in Washington State
- Experience leading competitive pursuits and growing a practice area
- Familiarity with Puget Sound region jurisdictions and regulatory environment
Compensation
- $135,000 to $200,000+ depending on experience
