About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HVAC & Plumbing Estimator to support our growing mechanical construction portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial mechanical projects and playing a critical role in the pre‑construction and bidding process.
This position is ideal for a motivated estimator who enjoys problem‑solving, collaborating with project teams, and contributing directly to the successful delivery of high‑quality mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects through all phases of bidding
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to fully understand scope, risks, and requirements
- Perform quantity take‑offs and develop labour, material, equipment, and overhead costing
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate pricing
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to develop cost‑effective solutions
- Support bid strategy, bid reviews, and post bid analysis
- Conduct site visits as required to verify conditions and scope assumptions
- Assist with value engineering and cost saving initiatives
- Support project handover by verifying scope, budget, and documentation upon award
- Maintain estimating databases, pricing tools, and historical cost information
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of estimating experience within commercial HVAC and/or plumbing construction
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications with precision
- Proficiency with estimating software, take‑off tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organisational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and nontechnical teams
