About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HVAC & Plumbing Estimator to support our growing mechanical construction portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial mechanical projects and playing a critical role in the preconstruction and bidding process.

This position is ideal for a motivated estimator who enjoys problemsolving, collaborating with project teams, and contributing directly to the successful delivery of highquality mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects through all phases of bidding
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to fully understand scope, risks, and requirements
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labour, material, equipment, and overhead costing
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate pricing
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to develop costeffective solutions
  • Support bid strategy, bid reviews, and post bid analysis
  • Conduct site visits as required to verify conditions and scope assumptions
  • Assist with value engineering and cost saving initiatives
  • Support project handover by verifying scope, budget, and documentation upon award
  • Maintain estimating databases, pricing tools, and historical cost information

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of estimating experience within commercial HVAC and/or plumbing construction
  • Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications with precision
  • Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and nontechnical teams
