About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scope of large-scale data center construction projects. This individual will play a critical role in driving project execution, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality control, and delivering complex MEP systems safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing MEP installation on mission-critical, hyperscale, or large commercial construction projects and be comfortable travelling to project sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing construction activities from preconstruction through project turnover.
- Coordinate with project teams, owners, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery of MEP systems.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project plans to identify potential issues and drive solutions.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, and quality of work across all MEP trades.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and ensure alignment with project milestones and safety requirements.
- Support commissioning and startup activities to ensure systems are installed and functioning according to design.
- Track and mitigate project risks, change orders, and schedule impacts.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and project standards.
- Assist in procurement planning, equipment tracking, and material management.
- Collaborate closely with construction, scheduling, and commissioning teams to maintain project timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing MEP construction activities.
- Experience on data center, mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, or large commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data center construction experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with commissioning and integrated systems testing.
- Knowledge of BIM/VDC processes.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Familiarity with LEED, sustainability initiatives, and mission-critical facility construction.
