Mechanical Construction Project Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This position will take ownership of project delivery, working closely with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal leadership.
The ideal candidate will have experience working for a mechanical contractor and a strong understanding of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and/or mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and cost control
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors
- Track project progress and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, GCs, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contracts
- Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues
- Support procurement and scheduling of mechanical equipment and materials
- Manage project financials, including billing, change management, and profitability
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to internal leadership and clients
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Project Management experience within mechanical construction
- Previous experience working for a mechanical or MEP subcontractor
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and/or sheet metal systems
- Experience managing commercial, healthcare, government, mission-critical, industrial, or similar projects
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, and project financials
- Excellent communication, organization, and client-management skills
- Experience with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or related construction software is beneficial
