LVI Associates is partnered with a highly respected multidisciplinary engineering and surveying firm in New England seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join and support the continued growth of its surveying practice.

Position Overview

The Professional Land Surveyor will oversee a variety of survey projects throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts while serving as a technical resource to both field and office staff. This is an opportunity for a licensed professional who is looking to take on a visible role within a growing team and contribute to the future direction of the survey practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage survey projects from proposal through final delivery.
  • Review, certify, and stamp survey documents as required.
  • Oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, utility, and construction surveys.
  • Perform deed research, boundary analysis, and QA/QC reviews.
  • Coordinate project efforts with engineers, municipalities, contractors, and private clients.
  • Mentor and support survey staff and field crews.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships while supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts.
  • Experience managing survey projects and leading teams.
  • Strong knowledge of boundary surveying principles and land records research.
  • Experience with survey data processing and CAD platforms.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

  • Municipal, transportation, land development, utility, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Construction layout and as-built surveys.
  • Experience working directly with public-sector clients and local agencies.
  • Interest in helping grow and develop a surveying practice.
