Project Engineer - Structural Engineering (Nashville, TN)

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their expanding Nashville, TN team. This is a key technical role with responsibility for full project life‑cycle involvement - design, development, coordination, and successful delivery. You will prepare engineering analyses and drawings for senior review and take ownership of engineering outputs throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and lead discussions with architects, contractors, and project partners
  • Support business development by securing repeat work from existing clients and contributing to proposals and RFIs
  • Provide technical leadership across design calculations, construction documents, and project submittals
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs to ensure high‑quality, accurate deliverables
  • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when required

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) licence
  • BS with PE, or MS with PE and/or SE
  • 5-10 years' experience in building design
  • Active PE licence (multi‑state experience advantageous)
  • Seismic design experience required
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Experience with industry-standard structural software such as RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, and Microsoft/Bentley tools

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of relevant jurisdictional codes and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Motivated, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to take full ownership of work produced
