Our client is a privately held, Houston-based general contractor specializing in waterworks construction. They have more than 40 years of experience and have successfully constructed or remodeled over 100 water and wastewater treatment plants across Texas.
They deliver a range of projects. From pump station upgrades and plant rehabilitation to greenfield facility builds. As a self-performing contractor, their teams execute all project phases,from estimating and carpentry to mechanical and piping.
As Project Manager, you will oversee water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through completion. You'll coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and owners to ensure quality, safety, schedule adherence, and fiscal responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead project execution, aligning with schedule, scope, and budget
- Coordinate logistics, material procurement, subcontractor performance
- Review engineering drawings, RFPs/RFIs, and submittals with precision
- Maintain project documentation-schedule updates, meeting minutes, change orders
- Collaborate with estimators during the bid phase to establish scope and milestones
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory codes, and client requirements
- Liaise with owners, engineering firms, vendors, and regulators
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' experience in water/wastewater treatment plant construction
- Strong mechanical and piping expertise
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with proven ability to manage concurrent projects
- PMP, CCM, or other construction certifications (desired, not required)
