Position Overview:
Our client is a Top 20 ENR-ranked firm seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remediation Project Manager to lead and manage environmental remediation projects across diverse sites and contaminant profiles. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in Environmental Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science, combined with proven project management capabilities.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing complex remediation projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental remediation projects from planning through execution and closeout.
- Develop and implement site investigation and remediation strategies for soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor intrusion issues.
- Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, cost estimates, and regulatory submittals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and guidance (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, state-specific programs).
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Mentor and train junior staff, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental remediation, including field and office-based work.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and remediation technologies.
- Experience with a variety of contaminants and media (e.g., VOCs, SVOCs, metals, PCBs, petroleum hydrocarbons).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as PE (Professional Engineer), PG (Professional Geologist), or PMP (Project Management Professional). Or ability to acquire within 12 months of start.
- Experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and remedial design.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
