Location: Denver, Colorado
Compensation: $130,000 - $165,000 Base Salary

A leading engineering consulting firm focused on critical water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking a SCADA/PLC Programmer to support automation and control system projects throughout the region. This role offers the opportunity to work on municipal utility, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and telemetry projects that directly impact essential public infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI/SCADA applications.
  • Support SCADA, telemetry, and industrial automation projects from development through commissioning.
  • Create technical documentation, programming standards, and operator instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and project teams to deliver successful automation solutions.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, system integration, and performance testing activities.
  • Maintain and improve existing control systems while supporting new project implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of PLC programming and HMI/SCADA configuration experience.
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced PLC and SCADA software training.
  • 3+ years of water/wastewater, utility, or process automation experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems and automation best practices.

Preferred Experience

  • Industrial communication protocols including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
  • PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric (Modicon), or GE.
  • SCADA and HMI platforms including FactoryTalk, VTScada, Wonderware, Citect, and iFIX.
  • Experience with telemetry systems, remote monitoring, industrial networking, and system integration.
