Senior Civil Engineer
Our client is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineering professional to join our Buffalo-based team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys managing complex infrastructure projects, guiding technical staff, and collaborating with clients to deliver practical and innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for a variety of civil engineering assignments from planning through final design.
- Develop construction plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and other project deliverables while maintaining schedules and budgets.
- Perform site visits, field investigations, and construction-phase observations as required.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, leading project discussions and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Oversee the work of engineering staff, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development support.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal quality management procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or New Jersey.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project execution.
- Experience with transportation and municipal infrastructure projects, including:
- Roadway and highway systems
- Bridge rehabilitation and design
- Water transmission and distribution networks
- Storm drainage and sanitary sewer systems
- Thorough understanding of industry design criteria and standards, including AASHTO, NYSDOT, AISC, and PCA requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Strong time-management and organizational abilities with a proven capacity to balance multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications.
