Senior Electrical Engineer

This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office collaboration three days per week.

The hiring organization is a consulting firm supporting clients across the electric power sector. The team advises on the development and execution of generation projects, focusing on optimizing technical, commercial, environmental, and financial performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support project development efforts, including conceptual design and owner's engineering services
  • Perform technical evaluations of power generation facilities and infrastructure
  • Conduct engineering design reviews and technical due diligence
  • Assist with project economics, cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development
  • Contribute to conceptual and preliminary design activities
  • Provide technical expertise in electrical systems for thermal power generation projects

This role includes opportunities for domestic and international travel.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
  • 10+ years of experience in the electric power or generation industry
  • Strong experience in detailed design of medium-voltage electrical systems for utility-scale thermal power projects, including one or more of the following:
    • Simple cycle gas turbine facilities
    • Combined cycle plants
    • Coal-fired generation
    • Reciprocating engine (RICE) plants
  • Experience supporting project development and conceptual design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with technical due diligence and owner's engineering reviews
  • Understanding of power plant operations and performance analysis
  • Familiarity with process design in generation facilities
  • Exposure to financial modeling, cost estimation, or contract development
  • Knowledge of international engineering codes and standards
