Senior Project Manager - Electrical Construction
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will oversee project teams, drive financial performance, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure successful project execution across multiple assignments or large-scale programs.
The ideal candidate combines technical construction expertise with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight for electrical construction projects.
- Develop project execution plans, establish goals, and communicate expectations to field and office teams.
- Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support staff.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and overall financial performance.
- Oversee contract administration, including pricing, negotiation, and execution of change orders.
- Track project progress through reporting systems, schedules, and performance metrics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, and trade partners.
- Collaborate closely with field leadership to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Identify project risks and develop effective solutions to mitigate challenges.
- Represent the company during client meetings, planning sessions, and project reviews.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and project forecasts.
- Manage billing, cost control, procurement activities, and overall contract performance.
- Support business development initiatives by fostering existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Professional engineering credentials are beneficial but not required.
- 10+ years of project management experience within electrical construction or a related trade.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale projects and managing project teams.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project delivery methods, and contract administration.
- Experience with client-facing responsibilities and business development activities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction safety requirements and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction management software platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Self-driven professional with a proactive approach to project execution.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel to project sites and client locations, approximately 10-25%.
Work Environment
This role combines office-based responsibilities with regular project site involvement. Candidates should be comfortable working in active construction environments, participating in site walks, attending meetings, and coordinating with field personnel. The position may require periods of standing, walking, computer work, and occasional lifting of materials or equipment.
