Senior Environmental Engineer
This role supports the planning, design, and execution of remediation programs at complex contaminated sites. The position offers a blend of technical leadership, hands-on field involvement, and collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams across projects of varying size and complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate remediation strategies, including design documents and technical specifications tailored to site-specific conditions.
- Lead the engineering effort for remedial systems from concept through implementation, including system optimization and performance evaluation.
- Support construction and installation activities by coordinating field efforts, reviewing work plans, and resolving technical challenges as they arise.
- Oversee operation and maintenance activities for active remedial systems, providing direction to technical staff and ensuring compliance with permits and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a technical resource within project teams, contributing to design decisions, troubleshooting efforts, and overall project execution.
- Assist with proposal development, budgeting, and cost estimating for small to mid-sized remediation projects.
- Design and manage pilot testing and treatability studies to inform remedial design decisions.
- Prepare technical documentation and periodic progress reports for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Balance office-based engineering work with field support as required to meet project needs and schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience supporting environmental remediation projects, with industrial or Oil & Gas site experience strongly preferred.
- PE/PG preferred.
- Strong technical writing skills, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to manage priorities across multiple projects.
