A leading in-house energy infrastructure company is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Manager to support the development and execution of major capital projects across the United States. Key Responsibilities

Environmental Permitting Leadership

  • Lead environmental permitting efforts for pipelines, processing facilities, terminals, power infrastructure, and related capital projects
  • Develop and execute permitting strategies to support project schedules, budgets, and construction objectives
  • Coordinate environmental permitting activities across internal teams and external consultants
  • Manage permitting activities associated with federal, state, tribal, and local regulatory requirements

Regulatory Strategy & Agency Coordination

  • Interface with agencies including:
    • Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
    • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
    • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)
    • Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
    • State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO)
    • Additional state and local agencies as required
  • Guide permitting efforts involving:
    • NEPA
    • Clean Water Act
    • Endangered Species Act
    • National Historic Preservation Act
    • NPDES permitting
    • Stormwater permitting and SWPPP requirements
  • Evaluate evolving regulatory developments and emerging environmental considerations, including Environmental Justice initiatives

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related discipline
  • 15+ years of environmental permitting and compliance experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing environmental permitting professionals, consultants, or project teams
  • Strong experience supporting energy infrastructure projects, including:
    • Pipelines
    • Midstream facilities
    • Processing facilities
    • Terminal infrastructure
  • Demonstrated expertise with federal and state environmental permitting programs
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and managing complex permitting efforts

Technical Knowledge

Experience with:

  • NEPA
  • Clean Water Act (CWA)
  • Endangered Species Act (ESA)
  • National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
  • NPDES programs
  • Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA)
  • Oil Pollution Act (OPA)
  • Environmental compliance and permitting strategy

Preferred Experience

  • Midstream, pipeline, terminal, or energy transportation project experience
  • Experience permitting large-scale capital projects from development through construction
  • Familiarity with power generation, grid infrastructure, or energy projects supporting data center development
  • Experience working with tribal, state, and federal agencies
