Senior Highway Engineer
An established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join its growing transportation team in the Greater Boston area. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of roadway and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients across Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design of highway and roadway improvement projects.
- Prepare technical analyses, roadway geometry, grading, and drainage designs.
- Develop construction plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Represent projects at client meetings, public hearings, and technical presentations.
- Assist with project management duties, including scheduling, budgeting, and invoicing.
- Support business development efforts and proposal preparation.
- Mentor and oversee junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5-10+ years of highway design experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of MassDOT standards and highway design guidelines.
- Experience with roadway geometry, drainage, grading, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
