The Opportunity
A nationally recognised architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) firm is looking for a Senior Civil Project Manager to lead site/civil projects from concept through construction. The Role
You'll manage a varied portfolio of civil engineering projects end to end - field observation, due diligence with authorities, site layout, utility and stormwater design, permitting, and construction administration support. You'll coordinate with the in-house architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural teams to develop construction documents, and act as the client's main point of contact throughout.
Day to day, you will:
- Run multiple projects and clients simultaneously, owning timelines and communication
- Serve as lead client contact and manage project financial performance, including profitability, efficiency and AR
- Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants
- Allocate resources, build and monitor budgets, and manage schedules
- Set design criteria, oversee plan preparation, and solve design problems against general design standards
- Coordinate internal disciplines and the wider external project team
- Manage, develop and mentor Project Engineers and Designers
- Apply QA/QC practice while looking for quality and efficiency gains
- Grow existing client relationships and support new client pursuits
- Assess constructability, identify design and construction liability issues, and provide risk assessments with associated costs and probabilities
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of civil project management experience in site/civil production - commercial work such as retail, hospitality and/or fueling is preferred
- P.E. is a plus, but not essential
- Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience; MS Office
- A practical interest in using company-approved AI tools to improve team processes and decision-making, with the judgement to review AI-generated output for accuracy, protect confidential information, and stand behind the final work product
