Senior QA/QC Manager - Data Centers
Our client is a leading Owner's Representative specializing in the delivery of large-scale mission critical and hyperscale data center projects across North America. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control programs across multiple high-profile data center developments.
This is a strategic leadership position responsible for ensuring all construction activities are executed to the highest quality standards while maintaining compliance with project specifications, commissioning requirements, and client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage QA/QC programs across hyperscale data center construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs).
- Conduct quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, design specifications, and industry standards.
- Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality documentation from contractors and subcontractors.
- Collaborate closely with development, construction management, commissioning, design, and operations teams.
- Monitor contractor quality performance and proactively identify areas of risk.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action programs for quality-related issues.
- Oversee punch list management, deficiency tracking, and project closeout activities.
- Ensure proper documentation of testing, inspections, and turnover packages.
- Support commissioning readiness reviews and coordinate quality activities throughout startup and commissioning phases.
- Mentor and develop QA/QC personnel across multiple project locations.
- Provide regular quality reporting to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of QA/QC experience within large-scale commercial, industrial, mission critical, or data center construction.
- Strong experience on hyperscale data center projects valued at $100M+.
- Proven background working with General Contractors, Developers, Owner's Representatives, or Mission Critical Construction teams.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, inspection procedures, testing requirements, and construction best practices.
- Experience overseeing quality throughout MEP, CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural), and commissioning phases.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes and turnover requirements for mission critical facilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards including ISO 9001 and construction quality management principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), CQE, or equivalent certification.
- Data center experience with hyperscale clients such as Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or similar.
- Experience supporting greenfield campus developments and multi-building data center programs.
- Familiarity with commissioning platforms, quality management software, and digital turnover systems.
