The Opportunity

My Client is looking for a Senior Scheduling Consultant to independently lead all phases of the construction planning and scheduling process.

You will develop and maintain project schedules, visit construction sites to assess progress, analyse project documentation and data, and clearly communicate your findings to clients and project teams.

This position requires someone comfortable working independently, applying sound judgement, and considering the financial and operational impact of their recommendations.

My Client is an established professional services business providing construction consulting, engineering, and advisory services to clients across a range of complex projects.

Their planning and construction advisory team specialises in:

  • Construction planning and scheduling
  • Cost estimating
  • Constructability reviews
  • Project controls
  • Delay and claims analysis

The team supports clients from early-stage planning through project delivery, helping them align scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the construction planning and scheduling process from project development through completion.
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of schedules, project documentation, and construction costs.
  • Visit project sites and evaluate progress alongside the wider project team.
  • Perform schedule delay analysis to identify the cause and extent of delays.
  • Support the resolution of construction delay claims.
  • Review productivity, progress data, extended general conditions, acceleration plans, and mitigation options.
  • Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays.
  • Clearly communicate schedule findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Monitor project timelines, costs, and other factors affecting delivery and operational performance.
  • Prepare clear and detailed technical reports.
  • Maintain project files, supporting documentation, and client deliverables.
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and clients.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling.
  • Experience analysing complex construction project schedules.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with ASTA Powerproject is beneficial.
  • Previous onsite construction experience.
  • Experience on large-scale, high-tech, or mission-critical projects is strongly preferred.
  • Confidence presenting schedule progress and risks to senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team.

This is an onsite position based in Portland, Oregon.
