The Role

The Senior Structural Project Manager will lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of structural engineering projects from concept through construction. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and client engagement, offering meaningful autonomy and influence within the firm.

Typical project work may include:

  • Commercial and institutional buildings
  • Industrial and utility‑related structures
  • Renovations, evaluations, and retrofit projects
  • Structures requiring advanced analysis or phased construction coordination

This is a full‑time, in‑office leadership role, working closely with principals, project teams, and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager and Engineer of Record on structural engineering projects
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
  • Perform and oversee structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems
  • Review and approve calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and other design disciplines
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
  • Conduct site visits, field observations, and constructability reviews
  • Support business development efforts including proposals and client presentations
  • Uphold quality control standards and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience, including project management responsibility
  • Experience leading projects and interfacing directly with clients
  • Strong background in steel and concrete design (exposure to industrial or complex projects a plus)
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, STAAD, Enercalc)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining technical quality and deadlines
