Senior Substation Engineer
We have a current opportunity for a Senior Substation Engineer - Grand Rapids Michigan on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
Develop one-line diagrams, installation plans, section views, and detailed drawings for substation equipment.
Design schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings for protective relaying and control systems.
Conduct research and provide recommendations for equipment and material selection.
Perform advanced engineering calculations and studies for substation systems, including lightning protection, conduit fill, AC/DC load analysis, surge arrester sizing, and voltage drop.
Generate RTU point lists (control, status, analog), cable schedules, and documentation for signage and nameplates.
Produce electrical design deliverables with a focus on protective relaying, control systems, and physical layout, driving continuous design improvement.
Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of engineering standards.
Offer technical support and guidance to peers across project teams and disciplines.
Coordinate cross-discipline work by initiating and managing communication with other engineering teams.
Participate in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews as needed.
Attend client and internal project meetings to support planning and execution.
