Location: Greater Manchester, New Hampshire Area (Remote or Hybrid Available)

Overview

A growing civil engineering and land development consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager to join its team in Southern New Hampshire.

This opportunity offers exceptional flexibility, including a 32-hour work week with full benefits, the option to work four 8-hour days (Monday-Thursday), and the ability to increase hours if desired. Candidates may work from the office, remotely, or in a hybrid arrangement.

The firm provides civil engineering, land planning, permitting, and development consulting services for a variety of private and public sector clients throughout New Hampshire and the surrounding region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee project engineers, managing workloads, schedules, and project priorities.
  • Serve as a technical mentor, providing guidance and support to junior staff.
  • Manage and design land development projects from concept through permitting and construction.
  • Prepare and review civil engineering plans and designs using AutoCAD.
  • Perform site engineering analysis including:
    • Site feasibility assessments
    • Grading and earthwork design
    • Drainage and stormwater management
    • Hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
    • Utility infrastructure design
    • Roadway, parking, and access improvements
  • Attend project meetings with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Present projects before local planning boards, zoning boards, and other municipal review boards.
  • Review permit applications and coordinate entitlement approvals.
  • Review construction documents, specifications, estimates, and contractor submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal land use regulations.
  • Support successful project delivery while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 6+ years of civil/site engineering and land development experience.
  • Experience managing projects through design, permitting, and approval processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and stormwater modelling software.
  • Strong understanding of land development regulations and permitting requirements in New Hampshire.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
