Sr EPC Project Director - Advanced Power Generation

A leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) organization is seeking a senior project executive to lead the successful delivery of large-scale power generation projects. This individual will have overall responsibility for project safety, quality, construction execution, schedule, cost performance, contract compliance, risk management, and client satisfaction across some of the company's largest and most complex EPC programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for major EPC power generation projects from engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Maintain overall accountability for project performance, including safety, quality, budget, schedule, and commercial outcomes.
- Lead large, multidisciplinary teams consisting of project managers, construction managers, engineers, project controls personnel, commissioning staff, and subcontractors.
- Oversee field execution, labor strategy, subcontractor management, productivity initiatives, and site leadership activities.
- Ensure effective integration of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning functions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resolve high-impact project challenges related to construction execution, schedule recovery, labor availability, cost control, contract administration, and client management.
- Manage executive-level client relationships and participate in contract negotiations, change management, and business development initiatives.
- Direct multiple projects and teams while managing complex risk profiles and ensuring successful project delivery.
Ideal Background
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Approximately 18+ years of experience leading large-scale EPC projects.
- Strong background in power generation, energy infrastructure, heavy industrial, or similar large capital project environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex construction and field execution efforts.
- Expertise in project controls, commercial risk management, labor strategy, subcontractor oversight, and project recovery.
- Proven ability to lead project directors, project managers, construction managers, and large integrated project teams.
- Strong executive presence with experience interfacing directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
Additional Information
- Significant travel required to project sites and client locations, typically exceeding 50%.
- Flexible or hybrid work options may be available based on project requirements and performance.
