Structural Engineer
A well-established, multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm in North Jersey is looking to add a Structural Engineer to its growing team.
This is an opportunity to work on meaningful building projects throughout New Jersey, with a particular focus on multifamily, mixed-use, and affordable housing developments. You will work closely with architects and experienced engineers, giving you exposure to the full project lifecycle rather than being limited to one small part of the design process.
The position can be tailored around your experience. The firm is open to speaking with recent graduates, EITs, and engineers with several years of structural design experience who want greater project responsibility and a clearer path forward.
What You'll Be Doing
- Performing structural analysis, calculations, and design for building projects
- Supporting the design of multifamily, mixed-use, residential, and affordable housing developments
- Producing coordinated design and construction documents using Revit and CAD
- Working with structural design programs such as RAM, ETABS, STAAD, or similar software
- Reviewing applicable building codes and design requirements
- Coordinating directly with architects and other engineering disciplines
- Assisting with projects from early-stage design through construction
- Helping ensure projects are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget
What They're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Between 0 and 5+ years of relevant experience
- A strong understanding of structural analysis and building design fundamentals
- Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with structural engineering software such as RAM, ETABS, STAAD, or similar
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and design standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- EIT certification is preferred but not essential
- Previous experience working on building structures is beneficial
