An established and rapidly expanding engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager / Team Leader to support continued growth across the Southeast. The Opportunity

In this role, you will lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to junior staff. You will have the opportunity to influence technical standards, oversee project delivery, and help shape the future direction of a growing structural engineering practice.

This position is ideal for engineers who want to remain technically engaged while taking on greater leadership responsibility and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage structural engineering projects from planning and design through construction support.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and deliverables.
  • Design and review structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction.
  • Lead coordination efforts with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and construction administration activities.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact.
  • Support proposal preparation, project pursuits, and business development initiatives.
  • Help establish and improve technical standards, processes, and team capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience with building and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • SE license.
  • Experience working with municipal, government, or federal clients.
  • Prior team leadership or department management experience.
  • Business development and client relationship management experience.

Technical Skills

Experience with some or all of the following is preferred:

  • RISA
  • RAM
  • ETABS
  • SAP2000
  • Revit
  • AutoCAD

Knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards, including:

  • IBC
  • ASCE 7
  • ACI
  • AISC

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000
