Position Overview
We are seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves the structural analysis and design of a variety of building types using steel, concrete, masonry, light-gauge, and wood materials. The successful candidate will contribute to the production of structural contract drawings-primarily using Revit-and collaborate closely with internal and external teams to deliver coordinated, code-compliant, and constructible designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design for buildings and structures using a range of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, light-gauge, and wood.
- Develop building system concepts, framing layouts, lateral and gravity load systems, and foundation designs.
- Produce and manage 3D structural Revit models, coordinating with architectural and MEP models.
- Prepare and review structural construction documents, specifications, and calculations.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of structural systems.
- Participate in project meetings, including design coordination and geotechnical discussions.
- Conduct site visits, field observations, and respond to RFIs and submittals during construction administration.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Licensure: P.E. and/or S.E. registration required; must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Education: Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (with a structural focus) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: 3-8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with at least 2 years focused on building structures.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, BIM 360, RAM, Tekla, Enercalc, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Knowledge Areas: Strong understanding of structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and design of concrete, steel, and masonry systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
