  • Coordinate team workloads and ensure projects are appropriately staffed.
  • Provide senior technical guidance across wood, steel, concrete, masonry, precast, post-tensioned concrete, and light-gauge framing systems.
  • Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with project partners to develop practical, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions.
  • Support proposals, fee development, workload forecasting, client relationships, and the continued growth of the housing practice.
  • Ensure projects meet client expectations, internal quality standards, and applicable building codes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally including multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, senior living, or other housing projects.
  • Professional Engineer licence required, or the ability to obtain one in Minnesota.
  • Previous experience leading project teams and mentoring engineers or designers.
  • Strong understanding of common housing construction systems, particularly wood framing, concrete, steel, masonry, precast, and light-gauge framing.
  • Experience managing project scope, fees, schedules, staffing, and client expectations.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, Revit, or similar programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
