Substation Tester

A growing electrical contractor specializing in substation construction, commissioning, testing, and maintenance is seeking a Substation Technician / Tester to support projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
This role will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining substation equipment on a variety of utility and industrial substation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and commissioning of substation equipment
- Test protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and associated control systems
- Utilize testing equipment such as Doble, Omicron, and SEL software
- Troubleshoot electrical and protection system issues
- Support maintenance, upgrades, and commissioning efforts on energized and greenfield substations
- Complete testing reports and commissioning documentation
- Maintain compliance with all safety standards and client requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Relay Technician, P&C Technician, Substation Technician, Electrical Test Technician, or Commissioning Technician
- Hands-on experience with substation testing and commissioning
- Knowledge of protective relay systems and substation equipment
- Familiarity with Doble and/or Omicron testing platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
