Superintendent
Job Title: Superintendent - Water/Wastewater Construction
Location: North Carolina (projects across the state)
A well-established general contractor with a strong presence in the Carolinas is seeking an experienced Superintendent to support ongoing and upcoming work in the water and wastewater sector. This role will oversee field operations for projects including treatment plants, pump/lift stations, and underground utility installations.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on water/wastewater construction projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, crews, equipment, and material deliveries
- Maintain project schedules and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
- Enforce safety protocols and company standards on-site
- Work closely with project management to track progress and resolve issues
- Conduct regular site meetings and inspections
- Ensure quality control across all phases of construction
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in heavy civil or utility construction
- Strong background in water/wastewater treatment plants, pump/lift stations, or underground utilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proven leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors
- Solid understanding of site work, piping, concrete structures, and mechanical installations
- OSHA knowledge and commitment to jobsite safety
Preferred Experience
- Wastewater or water treatment facility construction
- Deep utility installation (gravity sewer, force main, water main)
- Experience with large-scale municipal or public infrastructure projects
