Our client is a well-established engineering and surveying firm seeking a Survey Party Chief to join its growing team in Topeka, Kansas. This is an excellent opportunity to lead field operations on a diverse mix of transportation, infrastructure, utility, commercial, and land development projects while utilizing modern surveying technology and working alongside experienced survey and engineering professionals.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate survey field crews
- Perform topographic, boundary, ALTA, and right-of-way surveys
- Oversee construction staking and layout activities
- Collect and verify field data using GPS and conventional survey equipment
- Interpret plans and specifications for construction projects
- Perform field calculations and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate project updates and field conditions to project teams
- Ensure quality, safety, and accuracy on all assignments
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of Survey Party Chief experience
- Experience with:
- Construction staking
- Boundary surveys
- Topographic surveys
- ALTA surveys
- Proficiency with GPS and conventional survey equipment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage field operations
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) experience is a plus
