A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Sr Project Engineer/Manager to join its growing team in Bellingham, Washington.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of municipal infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, supporting communities through the planning, design, rehabilitation, and delivery of critical water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. What You'll Do
- Lead and manage municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
- Prepare and oversee engineering studies, master plans, technical memorandums, feasibility studies, and infrastructure assessments.
- Support the design and rehabilitation of pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, treatment facilities, and other utility infrastructure.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful infrastructure projects.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for municipal clients, agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
- Participate in client development, proposal preparation, and business development activities.
- Provide technical guidance and quality review of engineering deliverables.
- Support long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement programs for public-sector clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure in Washington.
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure consulting, engineering design, or utility planning.
- Experience working on water, wastewater, stormwater, or related public infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of municipal utility systems and infrastructure challenges.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating directly with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Interest in mentoring staff and helping grow technical teams.

Compensation
Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 annually
Compensation will be based on experience, technical expertise, licensure, project management responsibilities, and overall qualifications. Additional bonus opportunities and retirement contributions may be available.
