Company Summary: A leading design + engineering firm is looking to grow their collaborative team! With 15GW+ of solar+energy storage projects, the team is looking to bring on a Electrical Engineering Manager to support their continuously growing pipeline!
This position can be based out of Phoenix, AZ or Kansas City, KS.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Oversee all aspects of electrical engineering for solar and battery storage projects, ensuring adherence to electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations from feasibility to commissioning.
- Collaborate with developers, EPC, and other stakeholders to ensure successful planning, installation, and commissioning, while maintaining project budgets, timelines, and managing risks.
- Stay current on advancements in solar and battery storage technologies, contributing to business development by providing technical expertise during proposal development and process improvements.
- Ensure quality assurance and control of electrical designs, provide company-wide training, resolve complex engineering issues, and support construction teams with design reviews and site visits.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineer, PE License preferred
- Experience working on Utility Scale renewable OR Power Generation projects
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional understanding of electrical systems design, power conversion, grid interconnection, and familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NERC standards.
- Proficient in electrical engineering modeling software (ETAP/SKM, CYMCAP, WinIGS/CDEGS) and PV modeling tools (PVsyst, SAM); experience with specifying and procuring electrical equipment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and project management skills, with the ability to drive results and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
