Job Summary:
The Senior Building Envelope Consultant will be responsible for providing technical expertise and project management services related to building envelope systems. This role requires a deep understanding of building envelope systems and the ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion. This role would require a deep understanding of Local Law 11 from the inspections to the writing and filing of reports. The Senior Building Envelope Consultant will also be responsible for client relations, business development, and staff mentoring and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and project management services related to building envelope systems including roofing, waterproofing, wall systems, and fenestration systems.
- Local Law 11 report writing and Inspections
- Conduct building envelope condition assessments, forensic investigations, and failure analysis to determine the root cause of problems and develop appropriate remediation strategies.
- Develop and oversee testing programs to evaluate building envelope performance and develop appropriate recommendations.
- Develop and oversee the design of building envelope systems including preparation of construction documents, specifications, and construction administration services.
- Provide expert testimony related to building envelope systems in legal proceedings.
- Maintain client relationships and develop new business opportunities through networking and marketing efforts.
- Mentor and develop junior staff members.
- Participate in industry organizations and stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in building envelope consulting or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of building envelope systems including roofing, waterproofing, wall systems, and fenestration systems. Experience with building envelope condition assessments, forensic investigations, and failure analysis.
- Experience with building envelope testing programs.
- Experience with building envelope system design, construction documents, specifications, and construction administration services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Professional licensure (PE, RA, or RRO) preferred.
- Experience with expert witness testimony preferred
