Offer technical expertise and oversee the management of building structure design projects. Develop innovative structural engineering solutions for buildings and structures, aligning with project objectives and design criteria. Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members throughout the design process. Ensure timely delivery of precise structural designs, drawings, and details within project time lines and budget constraints.
Contribute to task, project, and contract proposals, as well as participate in business development initiatives. Generate engineering calculations and technical reports. Conduct field-related activities, including structural condition inspections, site visits, and field inventories. Enforce compliance with the company's quality control program and safety standards.
Supervise assigned tasks, reviewing the work of others as needed. Assess and certify engineering design documents as required. Meet professional registration requirements, with a preference for Structural Engineer (MA). Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil) with a focus on Structural Engineering (M.S. in Engineering preferred). Accumulate 8-10 years of relevant work experience, including prior project leadership experience for MBTA or DCAMM in Boston, MA.
Demonstrate proficiency in designing structural components and framing systems in steel, concrete, wood/timber, and masonry. Exhibit strong client relationship skills and the ability to manage complex projects. Showcase expertise in industry practices, regulations, and current technology applicable to the project. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Possess working knowledge and proficiency in computer-aided structural analysis/design software such as RISA 3D, Tekla, Fastrak, TEDDS, IES Quick Suite, and IES Visual Analysis. Familiarity with Autodesk Revit is also required.
