As a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the planning and development of our transmission infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to optimize and enhance our transmission network, ensuring its reliability, capacity, and efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of transmission planning strategies to meet current and future energy demands.
- Conduct comprehensive studies and analyses of transmission systems to identify potential constraints, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, engineering, and regulatory affairs, to ensure the successful implementation of transmission projects.

- Perform detailed system modeling, load flow analysis, contingency analysis, and stability studies to optimize transmission network performance.

- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management, outlining the findings and strategies for transmission infrastructure improvements.
- Contribute to the development of long-term transmission planning goals and objectives, aligning them with the company's overall strategic vision.
- Stay updated with industry developments, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and adopting innovative approaches to transmission planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in transmission planning, preferably in the energy industry.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering complex transmission planning projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PSLF, and power flow simulation software.
- In-depth understanding of transmission system planning principles, methodologies, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance related to transmission planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
