Job Description: We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Live Events Lighting Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Lighting Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing lighting setups for a variety of live events. From initial concept meetings to on-site implementation, you will play a crucial role in bringing our clients' visions to life through creative and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients and event producers to understand their vision and lighting requirements
- Develop lighting concepts and designs that enhance the overall atmosphere and mood of each event
- Create detailed lighting plots, cue sheets, and programming cues using industry-standard software (e.g., Vectorworks, MA Lighting, etc.)
- Oversee the installation, programming, and operation of lighting equipment during rehearsals and live performances
- Work closely with other members of the production team, including audio engineers, stage managers, and riggers, to ensure seamless integration of lighting elements
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in live event lighting design
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Theatre Production, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Lighting Designer in the live events industry
- Proficiency in industry-standard lighting design software, such as Vectorworks, MA Lighting, or similar
- Strong understanding of lighting equipment, including conventional fixtures, intelligent lighting fixtures, LED fixtures, and control systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Creative vision and attention to detail, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of traditional lighting design
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and provide innovative solutions to meet client needs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
