Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Systems Design Director to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of technical systems for live events, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding client expectations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and strong leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire technical systems design process, from concept development to execution, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including production, engineering, and creative departments, to translate client requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Conduct thorough research and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Develop detailed technical schematics, diagrams, and documentation to guide the implementation and integration of audio, visual, lighting, and special effects equipment.
- Lead a team of technical designers and engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster professional growth and ensure project success.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical consultations with clients, offering expert advice and recommendations to achieve their vision effectively.
- Oversee onsite technical operations during live events, troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring optimal performance of all technical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Audiovisual Technology, Technical Theater) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in technical systems design for live events, including familiarity with audio, visual, lighting, and rigging equipment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Vectorworks) and other design tools used for creating technical schematics and diagrams.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to travel and work onsite during live events, including evenings and weekends as needed.
