A pioneering development company specializing in the creation, construction, and management of comprehensive solid wasteand anaerobic digestion facilities is for a Project Engineer that will focus on Waste-to-Energy Projects.
Reporting to te Engineering Manager, this project engineer will play a key role in designing and integrating systems and equipment for projects and installations carried out by the company. Core duties will involve performing project engineering tasks focused on organic waste processing systems, including pre-processing, anaerobic digestion, and in-vessel composting systems. Core technical responsibilities will encompass conceptualizing designs, conducting engineering calculations, developing process flow diagrams, creating process and instrumentation drawings, performing 3D system modeling, producing general arrangement drawings, providing installation instructions, and managing other design-related information
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering.
- Possess at least 3 years of experience in designing plant facilities, major piping designs, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D and Revit is mandatory, with experience in Inventor being advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of process piping and fluid system design.
- Familiarity with fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material properties is preferred.
- Experience with anaerobic digestion is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intricate calculations including mass and energy balance, pressure, flow through pipes, and unit conversions.
- Develop and review PFDs and P&IDs for major equipment and facility integration.
- Create detailed 3D models and design drawings using Revit and Plant 3D modeling software.
- Utilize software to compile pipe schedules, device lists, power requirements, and motor lists.
- Draft process narratives for control, operation, and automation.
- Organize plans, protocols, permits, and standard operating procedures.
- Aid in establishing and maintaining environmental management systems to adhere to air permits and regulations.
- Assist in preparing and negotiating permit applications.
- Support engagement with regulatory agencies by providing necessary documentation and scheduling required testing.
- Offer technical evaluations and feasibility studies for anaerobic digestion and in-vessel composting projects.
- Research, strategize, and integrate the latest pollution control technologies into systems.
- Review environmental regulations and determine their applicability.
